OUR RANCH
was started in 1986, in the picturesque valleys of southeastern Minnesota, near the Mississippi River. The llamas of Carothers Country Farm enjoy lush green pastures and spring fed streams. The herd is kept at about 30 llamas to make sure each animal receives the individual care that they need. Our llamas enjoy a quiet, peaceful, and stress-free environment. These llamas find new homes as breeding and show stock, family pets, 4-H projects, and as guard llamas. Their strong oil-free wool has been used by spinners and felters to produce sweaters, hats, and many other items of exceptional comfort and warmth.

DISCOVER THE JOY OF LLAMAS
Llamas are kind and gentle, making them ideal family companions. They are intelligent, independent, easy to train, and easy to care for. Youth discover that working with and showing llamas provides entertainment and offers terrific education in animal husbandry. They are popular pack animals, and hikers appreciate their strong yet gentle surefootedness, calm nature and low impact on the environment. Llamas are used as guard animal effectively protecting against coyotes and other predators. Just one visit to our farm and you'll discover why these interesting animals are so easy to love.
